The Varsity and JV team will play it's annual "exhibition game" against Cousino HS on Friday, December 5. Each team will play a complete game which serves as a full dress-rehearsal for a typical game day. The JV tips off at 6:00 pm, with the varsity playing after. Admission is free. The game will be a real test for the varsity team. Cousino competes in the White division of the Macomb Area Conference, and the Patriots are lead by Matt Balkema, a 6'10" post player who has signed with NCAA Division I Eastern Michigan University. "Matt is a great player", said Coach Barnes. "I really don't know how we can limit his scoring. He not only plays so well inside, but he can step out and shoot the ball all the way to the three point line". Balkema is not the only concern for the coaches. "This will be the best team, talent-wise we see all year", said Barnes. "They have great size, with 4-5 players around 6'5", and great athleticism. They can really get out and run, and they have a high degree of skill." Barnes followed with "it will be a great way to find out where we're at this point in the season. It's going to be a great challenge for our kids".
