First Scrimmage a Success

11/30/2008

On Saturday, Nov. 29, all the high school programs participated in their first annual pre-season scrimmage. The Freshmen team hosted Lakeview HS and Cardinal Mooney HS, while the JV and Varsity teams hosted Lakeview HS and Royal Oak HS. Each team competed for 6-8 quarters in order to get a better idea of our teams' strengths and weaknesses.

"It ran as smoothly as it could", explained Coach Barnes afterwards. " As a coach, you can't help but learn a ton about your team, where your strengths and weaknesses lie, where you need to go to get better. This first scrimmage really shows us our most glaring deficits as we had into the last week of pre-season."

The high school teams will participate in their second pre-season scrimmage on Friday, December 5. The Freshmen team will take on Shelby Jr. HS, while the JV and Varsity will play their annual exhibition game against Cousino HS.
