Blue Devils Fall to Capac

2/14/2009

RICHMOND, Mich. -- Richmond's Blue Devils fell once again to Capac this week, 52-47. The Devils started slowly, falling behind 15-5 after one quarter. After outscoring the Chiefs 14-2 in the second and taking a two-point lead into halftime, the Blue Devils could not maintain that edge, as the Capac team raced out to an 18-9 third quarter advantage. Richmond was behind the entire fourth period, but rallied to within two points with just under a minute left. However, the Blue Devils gave up two offensive rebounds on free throws, which resulted in five points for Capac, sealing the victory for the visitors.

Capac shot 50% for the game, including 50% from three-point range. Shooting may have been the difference as the Blue Devils missed 15 shots in the key and shot just 37% overall. The loss drops Richmond to 11-4 overall, and 6-3 in the Blue Water Area Conference. The Blue Devils return to action this Friday as they host the Imlay City Spartans.
