Richmond Holds off Yale, Prepares for Rival

Thanks to some timely free throw shooting and sureness with the basketball, the varsity team from Richmond secured a tough road win against Almont, 58-52. The win improves the Blue Devils to 10-1 on the season and 6-0 in the conference. Richmond shot 22-30 from the free throw line, including 13-14 in the final five minutes of the game, to help close the victory. In addition, the team committed a season-low six turnovers in the contest. Veterans led the way, as Nick Manchik scored 16 points, Nick Vansimaeys added 15, and Dustin Dagastino chipped in with 13 points and 8 rebounds. Next up for Richmond is a tough Yale Bulldogs team. Game times is scheduled for Tuesday, February 2 at 7:30, as the varsity will play after the freshmen and JV teams. The game will conclude the first round of conference play.
