Richmond Beats Imlay City, 62-51

2/17/2010

Richmond used a late 4th-quarter rally to defeat the visiting Spartans of Imlay City, 62-51 on parents night. With the victory, Richmond moved its record to 13-2 overall and 9-1 in conference play.

With the game tied at 44 apiece, Nick Vansimaeys and Dustin Dagastino scored layups, and Dagastino was fouled. The ensuing free throw gave the Blue Devils a five-point lead they would never relinquish. Richmond shot 11-12 from the foul line in the fourth quarter to help seal the win.

The win, combined with an Armada loss, leaves the Blue Devils alone in first place in the BWAC… for the moment. Richmond returns to the hardwood on Friday, when they travel to Algonac.
