Staff Bios
Ken Hooks
7th Grade Boys' Basketball Coach

Coach Ken Hooks is entering his fourth year as member of the Richmond Basketball Program. He has enjoyed working with players over the last three years. He coached the 7th grade basketball team the past three seasons. “It’s been great working with Coach Barnes and the coaching staff.” “I have learned a tremendous amount on coaching the game the basketball.”

Coach Hooks has loved the game of basketball for many years. He played basketball in Richmond since he was in the 5th grade. In high school, Coach Hooks played two years at the varsity level under Coach Dave Jackson and Coach Keith Bartels. “We were always taught to play hard and smart every game.” “Basketball has taught me a lot of lessons on and off the floor and I hope to pass these learning experiences to the players in Richmond Community Schools.”

Coach Hooks attended Oakland University after high school and earned a B.A. in history. “I had a great time in my studies and also enjoyed a lot of basketball games there.” Coach Hooks is currently pursuing a master’s degree with elementary certification at Oakland.

He looks forward to many more years of working with the students, parents, and staff in the Richmond schools.
